Exploring the Seasons: A Journey Through Color and Atmosphere
Weaving together light, color, form, texture, and scent, the exhibition reflected the feeling of changing seasons. Each room offered a distinct experience, from energetic warmth to quiet introspection, to a sense of refreshing renewal. It provided a welcoming chance to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the natural rhythms that shape our experiences and perceptions over time.
Line Brockmann Juhl "At the Muuto Milan Apartment, visitors were invited to engage their senses and explore spaces designed around the changing seasons. Through light, color, texture, and scent, the exhibition showed how design connected us to nature’s rhythms, offering moments of rest, reflection, and renewal. Each room provided a chance to reconnect with the natural flow, inspiring balance and energy in daily life," says Line Brockmann Juhl, CMO at Muuto.
The apartment unfolded in stages, with each room reflecting the essence of a different season, offering distinct experiences tied to specific moods and feelings:
Entryway:
The two rooms celebrated the vibrant energy of summer, filled with bursts of color and light. Exuding optimism, warmth, and joy, they created an energetic, lively atmosphere that invited visitors to fully embrace the spirit of summer.
Kink Vases in sand with blooms contrasted against the red room’s warmth. Fine Suspension Pendant Lamps in black created a harmonious flow of light, while the rich, File Under Pop Scarlet-colored walls and lively Kvadrat Rocket 0661 curtains enhanced the energetic, optimistic mood.
In the blue room, inspired by the calming atmosphere of the seaside, the In Situ sofa and ottomans, featuring Maharam’s Nova 005 textile, created a relaxed and inviting space. The textile’s evolving color pattern added depth and texture, reminiscent of the shifting tones of the ocean. Soft In Situ Cushions complemented the mood, while three Ease Portable Lamps bathed the room in a gentle glow. The space was framed by sky blue Kvadrat “Blow 0021” curtains and walls painted in File Under Pop “Dolphins”, enhancing the serene, coastal feel.
Living room:
The living room was designed to evoke the essence of autumn. Calmness and introspection were at the forefront of this room. The rich brown tones brought comfort and a sense of reflection, creating a soothing environment for quiet moments of pause.
The Connect Soft Sofas in dark brown Grace Leather and Maharam Flint 008, arranged in various configurations, offered both a sense of refinement and relaxation. Connect Soft Cushions in matching textiles added to the sense of comfort, while the Doze Low Lounge Chairs provided versatility and style.
A blend of sculptural tables like the Couple Coffee Table and Midst Stone Coffee Table in dark red/grey marble enhanced the room's elegant feel. The space was illuminated by Rime Pendant Lamps and Calm Wall Lamps, while a selection of Silent and Kink Vases provided delicate accents. The mood was framed by File Under Pop “Black Orchid” walls and Kvadrat “Erie 391” curtains, grounding the room in warmth and quiet reflection.
Home office:
Reflecting the stillness of winter, the home office room embodied crispness and frosty calm. The white and minimal design encouraged reflective thought and offered a serene, almost meditative space for contemplation during the colder months.
The Fiber Conference Armchair in grey with Hearth 001 fabric paired with the 70/70 Table in grey offered a calm, functional workspace. The room was illuminated by a row of Fine Suspension Lamps and a polished aluminum Beam Table Lamp, while the Linear Steel Bench in warm galvanized steel added an industrial touch.
The sleek Stacked Storage System bookcase in grey, provided both practicality and elegance. Soft touches like the Ply Rug in off-white completed the space, while Ridge Vases in frosted glass brought visual intrigue. The atmosphere was framed by Kvadrat “Vidar 4 106” curtains and File Under Pop’s “Violet Hair” paint, reinforcing the calm, meditative mood.
Dining and Kitchen:
The dining and kitchen areas represented the hope and anticipation that spring brings. The soft green tones and light-filled spaces reflected the season’s spirit of renewal, encouraging visitors to embrace fresh starts and new beginnings.
The Cover Armchairs in oak surrounded a Midst Table with a refined Grey Marble tabletop, while Strand Pendant and Table Lamps added a warm, inviting glow. The Stacked Storage System in oak provided functional elegance.
In the Kitchen Area, the Fiber Side Chairs in grey with tube bases and the Outline Studio Sofa created a comfortable, modern space. The Linear System Table in oak, along with matching trays and side tables, added versatility and style. Ridge Planters in moss green, filled with fresh herbs, brought natural beauty and a sense of vitality to the space. The two spaces were framed by light green Kvadrat “Divina 0846” curtains and walls painted in File Under Pop “Lime Juice”, reinforcing the feeling of a fresh start.
The Muuto Garden:
Outside, the Muuto Garden transformed the courtyard of restaurant Associazione Salumi e Vini Naturali into a serene retreat, offering a peaceful escape from the bustling energy of Milan. The garden embodied the exhibition’s themes of transition and renewal, allowing visitors to pause, refresh, and reconnect with nature. The space featured Muuto’s Linear Steel System, the comfortable Settle Outdoor Series, and Ease and Piton lamps creating a harmonious blend of thoughtful design and natural elements. Here, guests could experience a moment of calm reflection, immersed in the soothing rhythms of the natural world.
