At Muuto, we strive to create new perspectives on Scandinavian design. Pushing this notion forward is our Photo Essays—perceiving our collection through the individual lens of photographers from across the world. For the eighth edition, Milan-based photographer Simone Bossi depicts the Workshop Chair, styled by Ambra Chiesa.
“The location of the photo essay served as the inspiration of the photo essay. It’s a place in progress—unfinished while gradually revealing its hidden beauty. The floor shows its old decorations with the walls appearing as several layers of color with different plasters, resembling a map of lands and water—the beauty of time.”
“The process of the place suggests a way of revealing the beauty of the Workshop Chair and the rhythm of the sequence while revealing one element at a time. The hidden chairs are partials and unclear, gradually stimulating the curiosity of the viewer.”
“The chairs—with their pure geometry and elegant lightness—appear in contrast with the decadent and imperfect space. A hidden dialogue that has already begun.”
